Ontario Landlord Association Loses All Credibility

A while back I was banned from the Ontario Landlord Forum. Then there was the incident with the picture of my son, their refusal to answer a simple email or tweet and pull the picture down until their site was shut down by their hosting company.

What Could Be Worse?

Today I heard some rather incredulous news. Harry Fine, one of Toronto’s most respected paralegals was banned today from their forum. To say that I was shocked would be an understatement. He’s written His Thoughts On The Ontario Landlord Association on his blog.

With that act they lost all credibility. No one can disagree with their myopic, political stance without being banned.

The Ontario Landlords Association’s forum is the most censured resource ever! If an empowered tenant tries to educate others, they end up banned!

Hahahaha of course they do douchebag, it’s a selling landlords memberships site. Why would they put up with you telling tenants how to sue their landlords & so on?

I was banned for suggesting the owner of the site was in bed with the tenant activist groups for political reasons.
My understanding is a deal was struck that allows the activists to post without interference on the public forum provided they do not engage in conversations on their posts with other members. The public forum is only a front to attract landlord members as the real business of the association takes place in the private members section. As it should.

I purchased the Basic package from the website and have received nothing in return. Who do I contact to determine what is going on with my purchase. Paypal took my money and I have nothing to show for it. The website is very poorly laid out and not user friendly to a novice. I can’t seem to find any way to contact anyone from the site. Some help would be appreciated.

    • Rachelle

I’m not sure Edgar. You’ll have to contact them directly.

That happened to me, but I am supposed to get a refund in 3 to 5 business days. it’s due to their website being upgraded but they should have a note on their web site. They should also have a contact number.

Oh good to know that they are on top of this technical issue. Except it happens on the regular… and no one in the industry knows who the actual people behind that website are.

      • Laurel

How were you able to contact them Karine. I also purchased the basic package, and have been searching for any means of contacting them.
